It’s been 17 years of the release of the Bollywood film Kal Ho Na Ho. Even though it was made in the early 2000s, the film makes a good watch even in 2020 and gives us a lesson that everyone should make the best of their present because life is unpredictable and we can’t guarantee what the future holds for us.

The film was released in 2003 and stars Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead role. If this is one of your favorite films, you need to know these interesting facts about Kal Ho Na Ho.

1-     Preity Zinta’s role was first offered to Kareena Kapoor. Kareena rejected it and the rest is history. Kareena had once confessed on Koffee With Karan that it is the only film she regrets rejecting.

2-     The film was co-produced by father and son Yash Johar and Karan Johar. Yash Johar died a few months after its release. And therefore, this film holds a special place in Karan Johar’s heart.

3-     Karan Johar has written this film. He once said that he regrets not directing the film. However, it marked the directorial debut of Nikkhil Advani and undoubtedly, he did great work.

4-     Shahrukh Khan wanted to quit this film as he fell sick. He even told Karan that he won’t be able to do the film. But Karan insisted. SRK even had a major surgery during the shooting of Kal Ho Na Ho and he resumed the film after he recovered.

5-     The melodious title track of the film was composed by Loy of the music composer trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy while sitting with Nikkhil at the German Bakery in Pune. Nikkhil was singing the song My Heart will Go On at the bakery and wanted a similar song post which Loy came up with the tune in no time and recorded on his phone.
