For many women in the United States, Donald Trump’s recent victory at the US presidential elections 2024 has turned out to be an aspect of fear. Following them, several celebrities als voiced their fears and dismay on social media. American singer Billie Eilish, who was one of the most outspoken supporters of Kamala Harris during the US elections 2024 also took a moment to take a dig at the Trump’s win while she was in the middle of her concert show.
The renowned artist performed at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville – the same day when the election results were announced. As Donald Trump was announced beating off Kamala Harris and securing the winning position, Eilish displayed her emotions by addressing the crowd and thereafter broke down in tears.
As she begins telling how she felt when she woke up to the election results Billie said, “Waking up this morning, I kinda couldn’t fathom doing a show on this day. But.. the longer the day went on I kinda had this feeling of it’s such a privilege I get to do this with you guys… I just love you so much and I want you to know that you’re safe with me and you’re protected here and you’re safe in this room”. As she preps to sing a song dedicating to the women who have been through abuses in their life, Billie remarked that there is not one woman whom she had met with no past history of facing abuses in life.
Next taking it directly on Trump, the Oscar winner continued, “Now a person who is a convicted, uh, let’s say convicted predator. God, my heart is being fast. Someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the president. So this song is for all the women out there.” After passing the cryptic comment, the singer begins with her track ‘Happier Than Ever’ song – Your Power. Billie was one of so many artists who endorsed Kamala Harris to gain the maximum number of voters. However, Kamala’s loss has saddened them all. Several other celebs like Cardi B, Ariana Grande, and Jamie Lee Curtis also expressed agony on the unwanted win in US.
