The sudden tragic demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput led to a wave of mental health awareness in the country. Reports claim that the late actor was battling depression for the past couple of months and that might have been one of the major reasons behind him taking the drastic step to end his own life. The Chhichhore actor died of suicide on June 14, 2020, and following his demise, many celebrities have come forward to speak about their battle with mental health.
Speaking of the same, South Africa based sports scientist Vallabhjee said, “It was really just serendipity. I had an idea about helping other people discover themselves through science and spirituality. I wanted it to start off as a show which as called In Pursuit of Balance. This quickly morphed into micro-content and them we learnt that India desperately needs a voice it can trust in the field of personal growth and mastery. A voice that isn’t necessarily linked to a religious organization and one that applies to the rational mind. This was what we set out to build – a community of like-minded people invested in personal growth.”
The life coach even expressed his desire to collaborate with more celebrities and spread a spread word about mental health in society. Vallabhjee further added that he along with Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman are planning to get on-board an army of local and international celebrities and teachers.
Vallabhjee also mentioned that mental health is one of the topics which they are planning to put the focus on. He then asserted that their vision is big and they are confident that the curated platform will become a destination for anyone who is interested in becoming a better version of themselves.
Indeed this is a great way to initiate mental health awareness in our society as depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues are put on a back burner in our country.
