Ankita Lokhande Speaks Up On Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death, Refutes Depression Claims

Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande has finally broken her silence on his death. She has also refuted the claims by Rhea Chakraborty about Sushant battling with depression. Read below to know more.

One of Bollywood’s most promising actor and emerging star Sushant Singh Rajput left for heavenly abode on June 14, 2020. The Chhichhore actor died of suicide and his dead body was found by his house help at his Mumbai residence. Following his demise, there have many allegations and conspiracy theories about who is ultimately responsible for Sushant’s untimely exit.

Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend and former co-star Ankita Lokhande has finally broken her silence and cites that he could not have taken his life his own life and also that he wasn’t battling with depression.

Speaking to Republic TV on Thursday, Ankita said that Sushant was not the guy who could commit suicide. She further added that they have seen worse situations back when they were together and nevertheless the late actor was a happy-go-lucky guy.

For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande met each other on the sets of Pavitra Rishta and their friendship eventually blossomed into a relationship. The couple was together for a couple of years before parting their ways in 2016.

Speaking of Sushant, the actress said, “How much ever I know him, he wasn’t a depressed guy. I have not seen a person like Sushant, a guy who used to write his own dreams, he had a diary… He had his 5-year plan — what he wants to do, how he will look, etc. And exactly after 5 years, he had fulfilled them. And when things like ‘depression’ are used after his name… it is heartbreaking. He might be upset, anxious, yes, but depression is a big word. Calling someone ‘bipolar’ is a big thing.”

Lokhande further continued by asserting that Sushant can’t be depressed. The late actor hailed from a small town and he had established himself in the industry on his own. The actress also mentioned that Sushant taught her acting and questioned everyone, ‘Does anyone know Sushant?’ She said that it is heartbreaking to read everyone’s portrayal of ‘how depressed he was’.

Ankita later revealed that the 34-year old found happiness in small things and he wanted to do farming. She also disclosed that Sushant had once told her that if nothing happens he will make a short film.

The Pavitra Rishta fame actress concluded by saying that she doesn’t know what Sushant’s current situation was but surely he was not depressed. She said that she will keep repeating the same because she doesn’t want people to remember the Kai Po Che actor as a depressed guy. She then praised Sushant was calling him a hero and an inspiration.

On Thursday, Bihar Police recorded Ankita’s statement in Sushant Singh Rajput row. The actress has also given her statement to Mumbai Police who are currently investigating the case.

Both Police are separately looking into the whole case after Sushant’s father filed an FIR against his alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family for abetment to suicide.
