Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt decided to take the OTT route for his upcoming film Sadak 2 as the theatres and cinema halls across the nation stay shut due to the coronavirus scare. The film is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak featuring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt as the main leads.
The sequel of Sadak stars Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur alongside the original leads Pooja and Sanjay. With Sadak 2, Mahesh Bhatt will don the director’s hat after almost two decades. A couple of days back, Alia Bhatt unveiled the first poster of the film featuring Mount Kailash, later the poster led the film into a legal feud.
However, now the second poster of Sadak 2 has been shared on social media by Alia Bhatt alongside the release date of the movie. The film will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on August 28, 2020.
In the poster, we can see three of the main leads walking on the same route that was showcased in the first poster. Aditya is seen carrying a guitar, while Alia has a bag. Sanjay Dutt is walking with his swagger.
For Sadak 2, Mahesh Bhatt has decided to go lowkey and avoid excess promotion of the same. The ace director took the decision pertaining to all the allegations livid on him in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
A source has revealed, “While Alia Bhatt and her sister Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapoor would be doing selected media, Mahesh Bhatt will be kept out of the film’s promotions, to avoid answering questions on Sushant.”
Sadak 2 was slated to hit the big screen on July 10, 2020, but the makers had to call it off due to the on-going health crisis.
