After Portia de Rossi, Katy Perry Shows Support To Ellen DeGeneres Amid Show Investigation

Katy Perry has expressed support for 'friend' Ellen DeGeneres as Warner Bros. continues to investigate the talk show of the host in the wake of claims of a toxic workplace environment. Here's what the singer had to say about the issue.

Talking straight about the matter then Ellen DeGeneres is backed by Katy Perry during the controversies surrounding her daytime talk show. The singer — who has been a regular guest at The Ellen DeGeneres Show for years — expressed her love for the host, 63, on August 4 in a series of tweets.

“I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow,” Katy, who is now pregnant with her first child, wrote in a tweet, called “1/2.”

She added,“I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow,” Katy completed the note, adding a red heart emoticon.

In July, news of the alleged “toxic work environment” at The Ellen DeGeneres Show came to light which prompted Warner Bros’ internal investigation. The investigation is still going on. At the end of July, Ellen spoke out for the first time in a long letter to her team, in which she discussed toxicity in the workplace.

The “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” executive producers replied to ongoing claims that employees experienced a toxic environment while working with the popular daytime talk show.

 The Ellen DeGeneres Show is scheduled to return to television in September, along with the veteran host. It’s still uncertain whether Ellen will fix the on-air issue or not.
